ABA - FILM in Austria

Looking back on a few intense days at Filmfest München, one thing stood out: Austria was not just in the room, it was on the screen. 🎬
At the Netflix brunch, three productions with an Austrian footprint were front and center. Crooks Season 2, shot in Vienna, Murder Mindfully season 2, and Eat Pray Bark, both filmed across Tyrol. All three are streaming worldwide right now, and show what Austria brings to a production.
That is why we came to Munich. On Sunday we hosted our own FILM in AUSTRIA reception, bringing Austria's regional film commissions and international guests together. At 36 degrees, and still a full house, plus a strong run of industry panels along the way.
🤝 Around one table: Vienna Film Commission, Cine Tirol Film Commission , Cinestyria Filmcommission and Fonds and Carinthia Film Commission
Thinking about where to shoot next? Austria has the locations, the crews and the funding to back it up. Let' talk.

Vienna is more than a beautiful backdrop – it’s a city where many cinematic worlds come together.
From the romantic streets of 'Before Sunrise' to the shadowy atmosphere of 'The Third Man', Vienna has inspired filmmakers for decades.
Historic settings such as the Belvedere Palace appeared in films like 'Woman in Gold', while modern Vienna provided the stage for the spectacular opera sequence in 'Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation'.
Within a very small radius, the city offers an incredible range of film locations.
Whether you’re looking for historic drama, contemporary storytelling, romance or noir, Vienna can transform into many different worlds on screen. One city. Many worlds.
Planning your next production in Vienna, or elsewhere in Austria? Get in touch with FILM in AUSTRIA for location insights and on-the-ground support. We support international productions throughout the entire process.
