The Gambia Signs Major Offshore Oil Deal with Global Energy Giant Eni

The Government of The Gambia has signed a landmark Petroleum Exploration, Development and Production Licence Agreement (PEPLA) for Offshore Block A1 with Eni Gambia Ltd, a subsidiary of the global energy major.

Administered through the Ministry of Petroleum, Energy and Mines, the deal greenlights advanced scientific exploration in Block A1, a high-potential asset located within the prospective MSGBC Basin.

Officials state the partnership signals strong international confidence in The Gambia’s regulatory framework and investment climate. The Government emphasized that all future operations will strictly prioritize environmental safety, transparency, and direct economic benefits for the Gambian people.
