Hoping this ceasefire holds. These past days and weeks have been deeply felt across the region, but so too has the strength people have shown in standing by one another. There is comfort in calm, kindness, and community during difficult times. May this bring some peace, some relief, and a steadier path ahead.

25 years ago, I was flipping through a book about the Burj Al Arab… never imagining I’d one day be working inside it.

Back in the early 2000s, I was a Visual Merchandiser at Harrods. During my lunch breaks, I’d wander into the book department and pore over interior design books. One day, I picked up a coffee table book dedicated to the Burj Al Arab, newly opened and absolutely dazzling.

I remember thinking, what an extraordinary place.

Fast forward twenty five years, and I now have the privilege of working there with one of my favourite retailers. The hotel still has that same grandeur, from the gold finishes to the stunning floral displays in reception.

It’s a full circle moment that reminds me why I love what I do.
