Celebrating my nephew,Joel’s First Holy Communion in hues of brown and rustic tones while adhering to covid protocols. Though we missed out on having family with us for the quiet celebration at home, we didn’t want to compromise on the Decor and Cake. Anna spun her magic into DIY-ing the table setup and decor and I made sure to fill it with Joel’s favourite goodies- cupcakes, brownies, cookies and who can miss out on cake!

The Principal of GMA was the first winner of the award for GEMS Exceptional Head of School.This called for major celebrations.The FOM or the group of parent representatives decides to surprise her with a cake and sustainable gifts for the next meeting.Being part of the FOM I gladly accepted to make the cake.As someone who makes it a point to appreciate my work i wanted to make it special for her.With much apprehension decided to make a caricature and with two critics breathing down my neck ,progress was slow but thrilled with the outcome.I requested each of the FOM members to describe her in one word and that's what you see on the cake board.

38 bakers have come together in support of children with special needs and their families. A special thanks to Mary Ann George for bringing us all together for this wonderful initiative.

While watching the video,I was deeply moved by the part where the little girl said she had lots of stories,but only a few friends.Every special child is a gift from God. They should not be deprived of the bond of friendship.The message that I have tried to convey is to befriend a special needs child and encourage your children to do the same.Once you do they will leave their footprints of happiness in your hearts forever. I have shown my bit of :)(: and now it's your turn to show your :)(: to the wonderful special needs children sent by God.
