Purple Wood Pigeon, Columbidae family, Pigeon genus.

The Purple Wood Pigeon is a large pigeon with a coppery sheen all over its body, especially with purple iridescence on the edges of new feathers and the underparts. Its head is silver, making it a beautiful purple-copper colored large pigeon.

The Purple Wood Pigeon is a rare species of pigeon, mainly distributed in Myanmar and India in Southeast Asia. Its records in our country are very few, only found in very limited areas of Hainan Island and southern Tibet. There have been no records in our country for a long time. This year, in April and May, a breeding population was discovered in the Fanjia Nature Reserve on Hainan Island, attracting many bird enthusiasts from home to visit. I didn't have time to go before, but unexpectedly stayed for quite a while, possibly until September. So this month I rushed to record it, feeling very happy.
